My New Cross Century II Chrome and Translucent Blue Lacquer
The increased reputation of fountain pens as writing instruments across the past number of years has been followed by a hike in the quantity of collectors. Collectors of rare pens are different from most other collectors in that a number of them decide to use their collectibles, at least occasionally. A top quality fountain pen can literally last a lifetime if it's well kept.
Around a month ago I borrowed a Cross rollerball pen from a mate and felt I was in the presence of something special. Couple of days ago I discovered a merchant selling a Cross Century II Chrome and Translucent Blue Lacquer. Thankfully I won it for a brilliant price. It was stated that it was new in the box and I must say was he truthful. It was in in new condition, with inside and outer boxes and all the papers. What a wonderful writing instrument and everyone is asking me how they can buy one. The most important fact for me is that it is a classic pen. It floats across paper like no other pen I’ve ever used. I must praise the Cross artisans, this truly is a masterpiece.
It is critical to select a nib with the right flow to fit each persons writing habits. There are assorted head sizes that make correspondingly diverse handwriting, dependant upon the amount of pressure that is used on them.
