Cross Pens

The increased status of fountain pens in everyday use across the last number of years has been mirrored by an increase in the amount of collectors. Collectors of classic pens are different from other collectors in that most of them like to use their collection, at least occasionally. A quality fountain pen can possibly last a lifetime if it is well kept.

Not that long ago I used a Cross ballpoint from a mate and felt I was in the company of something special. Recently I was happy to find a merchant auctioning a Cross Sauvage Ivory with Python Pattern. Thankfully I bought it for a bargain price. It was said that it was like new and boy was he right. It was in like new condition, with internal and outer boxes and all the papers. It’s a classic pen and all my friends is asking me where they can buy one. The most noteworthy fact for me is that it is a beautiful pen. It floats across paper like no other pen I’ve ever used. I congratulate the Cross creators, without doubt is a masterpiece.

It is crucial to choose a nib with the right flow to allow for each persons writing habits. There are distinct point sizes that create correspondingly variable handwriting, dependant upon the amount of pressing that is used on them.
