Mont Blanc Special Edition Skeleton Pen
How about this for a special edition? The Mont Blanc special edition Skeleton pen is attractive mainly from an artistic perspective. Only 333 are being made for collectors, with an anticipated price tag of between $20,000 to $30,000! Not a pen for your average collector.
It is a fun pen to look at and wish for. Imagine writing with such a pen. The Skeleton pen’s craftsmanship is almost sculpturesque, at home in a gallery but designed for your desk or shirt pocket. I suppose this is what writing quality and prestige is all about.
Will it be like writing with an angel guiding your hand? I doubt it somehow, regardless of the quality and price. Of course, if you care more about function than appearance I have a feeling you would be let down by this beauty.
This is what Mont Blanc themselves had to say about the pen:
"The Special Theme Edition Skeleton is a tribute, true to the last detail, to this first-ever skeletonised fountain pen. The transparent, platinum-plated barrel artistically reveals the delicate workings of this much sought-after collectors’ item down to the last detail. The cap is decorated by a Montblanc star in shimmering mother-of-pearl, and the rhodium-plated 18-karat gold nib captures the eye with its delicate hand engravings."
This is being limited to 333 Fountain Pens. Made from transparent precious resin with a platinum-plated barrel, the nib is made from rhodium-plated 18-karat gold.
