So you thought pens only had one use? Think again! What you see here is a demonstration of pen spinning, a relatively new pastime. Nobody is quite sure where pen spinning originated from, but it is thought it was in Asia. Originally started with basic moves such as thumbaround and finger pass, today there are many other types of tricks such as shadow, bakfall, twisted sonic bust and inverse sonic.

If you fancy getting in to pen spinning there are a lot of websites and forums to be found, tournaments have even been organised on webcam over the internet, with live tournaments held in Korea and Japan as well.

Just one last point, don't try this with your new Mont Blanc or Waterman!
